Departure Dates

Any date to suit your plans

Day 1:  Arrive in Christchurch
Take delivery of your rental vehicle at Christchurch Airport and head into the city.

Day 2:  Christchurch - Waipara (1 hr)
Your PurePod's exact location is kept "secret" to add to the adventure (and help ensure total privacy), with full instructions for locating the PurePod provided on the confirmation of booking.  Arrive after 3 pm (and before it gets dark) and park your car before a 1.5km walk on a mixture of bush and farm tracks gently weaving their way up to the PurePod.

Day 4:  Waipara - Blenheim (3 hrs 20 mins)
Please leave your luxury hideaway no later than midday. Note there is no check-in check-out procedure at this accommodation.  Travel on to Blenheim in the heart of Marlborough wine country.

Day 5:  Marlborough Wineries
Today is a full day of guided biking visiting 5-6 of Marlborough's premium wineries.  An average level of fitness is required for the easy 10km loop.

Day 6:  Blenheim - Nelson (1 hr 30 mins)
Nelson is well known for its award winning local wines and craft beer. Join an afternoon Wine, Brews & Views tour visiting 2 wineries, 1 brewery and the oldest pub in New Zealand (which also has craft beer tasting trays).  The tour is approximately 5 hours, including pick-up and drop-off from your hotel.

Day 7:  Wine, Art & Wilderness
To gain a quick appreciation of what makes this area so attractive to live and play in then 'Nelson in a Day' takes you on a drive past historic precincts and view points overlooking the city and Tasman Bay, through the rich fruit and wine producing areas of the Waimea Plains, the Upper Moutere and the historic German village of Sarau to the incredible Riwaka Resurgence.  A Kiwi gourmet picnic lunch will be provided on the sheltered golden sand at Abel Tasman National Park.  If time permits you can enjoy local wine and olive oil tasting.

Day 8:  Nelson - Punakaiki (3 hrs 40 mins)
Punakaiki is a small coastal settlement on the West Coast, known for its shaped pancake rocks and crowd-pleasing blowholes.  On a high tide and especially during a strong westerly, the 'show' can be amazing, with the ground physically shaking to the thunderous pounding of the waves and the sea-spray hissing from the cracks.  Keep your eye out for dolphins; it is not unusual to see pods or individuals mingling with surfers with the mutual intent to catch the best wave.

Day 9:  Punakaiki - Greymouth (40 mins)
Visit Montieth's Brewing Company to experience the sweet aromas of the beer as it brews and just soak up the atmosphere.  Return your car at the Greymouth Station and be prepared to board the TranzAlpine train which departs at 2.05 pm.  On arrival at Christchurch Station make your way to the Super Shuttle stand for transfer to the city.

Day 10:  Depart Christchurch
Sadly, your New Zealand experience comes to an end.  A SuperShuttle will transfer you to the Airport for your departing flight.
