Business Trading Name

The name that will appear on your card statement will be that of Kiwi Travel NZ 

Validity

All information and details were correct at the time of publication (July 2015). However, Kiwi Travel NZ reserves the right to amend any details without notice. Please contact a Kiwi Travel NZ consultant to confirm details at the time of booking.

Age Restrictions

The lead client must be at least 18 years of age to book products displayed on this Site. Please check child ages for discounts on sightseeing and travel options as these vary from company to company. Please also note that certain motor vehicles have age restrictions and higher (compulsory) insurance fees for younger drivers.

Deposits

A deposit of 10% applies to all confirmed bookings. Some motor vehicles/tours/luxury accommodations have their own deposit regulations which you will be made aware of at the time of booking. We will contact you if any additional payment or variations from our standard terms and conditions are required at this stage.

Once a booking has been fully confirmed, a deposit will be taken from the specified credit/debit card. Failure to pay the deposit upon confirmation will result in travel arrangements being cancelled immediately.

Policy

Please be aware that in the event of any items being unavailable, Kiwi Travel NZ will request the nearest suitable alternative. If you are not satisfied with the item chosen, we will change/cancel it free of charge.

Please check individual item confirmations as first choice options on request are not always available, particularly during high season.

Full Payments

Full payment is due 35 days prior to departure, with the exception of some tours, guided walks and luxury accommodations, which may require payment 60 days (or earlier) prior to departure. Some products may require an additional deposit BEFORE they can be booked. We will notify you of any such items and provide a full refund should the service be unavailable.

Bookings made within 35 days of the intended travel departure date are to be paid in full immediately upon confirmation. Your specified credit/debit card will be used for the deposit and we will contact you for the remaining balance on your booking. Please note we may need payment authorisation before your travel arrangements can be finalised, due to strict cancellation policies of individual suppliers.

Credit Card Fees

  • Please note there is a 3% Credit Card Fee applicable to all transactions.
  • We accept Visa or Mastercard.
  • We do not accept AMEX or Diners Cards.

Depending upon the currency of your credit/debit card and the country in which your card was issued, your provider may impose foreign exchange fees and other fees which are in accordance with your arrangements with that provider.

Travel Documents/Vouchers

All vouchers will be emailed approximately 30 days prior to departure (bookings made within this period will be emailed within 72 hours of full payment being received).

Changes to Bookings

If you would like to change any part of your booking, please contact our Reservation Department. We will do our best to assist with your new requirements, but cannot guarantee that changes can be made. Please note that:

Bookings with certain suppliers, or specific items, or during certain time periods cannot be changed or cancelled

  • Some suppliers may allow changes or cancellations for a fee. In addition, we may apply an administration charge to any amendments made. We will advise you of all fees in full before changing or cancelling any items booked.

Amendments/Fees

We realise that even the best planned trips often need to change. Whilst we are happy to request any amendments with the suppliers, we cannot guarantee that these requests will be available or accepted by the supplier. Please note that cancellation fees may apply.

Subject to agreement from the supplier concerned and prior to travel documents being issued, the first amendment is FREE. All additional amendments are liable to a charge of NZ$35 per amendment (plus additional supplier fees where applicable). All amendments once documents have been issued will be charged.

Urgent Booking Fee

For all booking requests requiring confirmation on the day, a fee of NZ$35 per file may apply.

 Refunds

  • Unused Car/Motorhome Hire – NIL
  • Unused Accommodation/Service vouchers refunded at the sole discretion of Kiwi Travel NZ.

Product and service providers are unable to authorise any refund on Kiwi Travel NZ's behalf. Consumer refunds/claims must be lodged in writing within 30 days of the applicable stay/service date.

Cancellation Charges

Days Prior to Departure:  

25 Days or More

Fee:

NZ$110 per person plus any additional Supplier   Charges applicable (these will be stated at time of booking).

11   to 24 Days

NZ$220 per person plus any additional Supplier   Charges.

10   Days or Less

100% of the holiday costs.

All Ski products are non-refundable. 

If you fail to cancel a booking and simply do not arrive for any section of your itinerary, you will be charged the full amount for the item in question.

Bonus Offers

Some bonus offers and specials have unique booking conditions and exclude special events. Please ask your reservation consultant for details when booking.

Baggage

All baggage and personal effects are, at all times, at your own risk. Any excess baggage charges are the responsibility of the passenger.

Snow Season

Snow and skiing conditions are entirely subject to natural weather conditions. Kiwi Travel NZ does not take responsibility for snow and skiing quality. Generally in New Zealand the ski season operates from June to the end of September, however this could vary for each ski area and season. Kiwi Travel NZ takes no responsibility for the start and finish dates for skiing at any New Zealand ski fields.

Pricing

All prices online are expressed in New Zealand Dollars.

Any Optional Extras paid locally are quoted in New Zealand Dollars and are correct at the time of publication (July 2015). Kiwi Travel NZ reserves the right to amend pricing without notice. Kiwi Travel NZ also reserves the right to amend prices if contracted rates with travel industry suppliers are withdrawn or changed for any reason. Publishing errors can occur in pricing and prices will not be considered valid until invoiced by Kiwi Travel NZ.

Kiwi Travel NZ also reserves the right to amend prices and/or product descriptions if contracted rates with travel industry suppliers are withdrawn or changed for any reason. All prices will be guaranteed once booking is accepted by client and deposit is received by Kiwi Travel NZ.

Supply of Products & Services

Kiwi Travel NZ acts as an agent for the suppliers of products and services displayed in this system. We have no control over the facilities or services themselves or the manner in which they are provided by the Suppliers. We can therefore accept no liability for any loss or damage which may arise from use or consumption of, or inability to use or consume those facilities or services. All facilities or services described by us are subject to availability from the Supplier. If, of the clients own choice, they decide not to use part or parts of the arranged services or facilities, they will not be entitled to a refund from us. Please note that this rule is strictly enforced in the case of unused days of motor vehicle hire.

 All facilities or services described by us are subject to availability from the Supplier and can change after this information is produced. Please check with our consultant for relevant changes when making a reservation. Whilst we make every effort to ensure information displayed on this Site is accurate, changes do occur and we are unable to guarantee that this site is free of errors or faults. We reserve the right to change information displayed on this Site (including these terms and conditions) at any time and without notice to you.

Supplier Service Disputes

In the event of a problem whilst travelling, please take up the matter immediately with the Supplier concerned. We would not want any unresolved problem to mar your travel experience, and this provides an opportunity to have the matter discussed, investigated and remedied on the spot. If the problem is not rectified to your satisfaction by the Supplier, please advise Kiwi Travel NZ as soon as possible so we can work on a resolution on your behalf. Consumer refunds/claims must be lodged in writing within 30 days of travel.

Travel Insurance

Kiwi Travel NZ strongly recommends clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance. Cancellation fees charged by Kiwi Travel NZ will not be waived under any circumstances, where travel insurance may have covered.

Product/Service Requirements

We do not provide your credit card details to any product/service provider available on this Site and therefore you may be required to provide a credit card imprint or equivalent upon arrival, to cover incidental charges. To reduce fraud, you may be asked to provide photo ID to ensure your identity matches the booking identity. A record of this may be retained for verification purposes with your credit card provider in the event of a dispute. This identification information may also be supplied to us by the supplier in the event of a credit card dispute.

Liabilities

1. The Trade Practices Act implies a warranty that the services rendered by Kiwi Travel NZ will be rendered with due care and skill and nothing contained in these conditions is to be construed as in any way excluding, restricting or limiting that warranty or any other rights implied by law which may not be excluded, restricted or modified.

2. Kiwi Travel NZ and its associated companies and their employees are not liable for: (a) Any event beyond their control, including (but not limited to) war, disturbance, fire, flood, unusually severe weather, act of God, act of government or other authorities, accident or failure of machinery or equipment, or industrial action (whether or not including Kiwi Travel NZ employees): nor

(b) Any act or omission whatsoever (whether within or outside their control) in relation to any booking, contract, travel, accommodation, excursion or other holiday services (including the carriage of baggage) which results in any direct, indirect or consequential loss, damage, death, injury, delay, liability, additional expenses or inconvenience.

(c) Kiwi Travel NZ does not own or operate any tour product or service listed on this website. Kiwi Travel NZ is a tour wholesaler who arranges the provision of the products & services listed. Kiwi Travel NZ does not take responsibility for the omission or failure of individual properties, plant or services detailed in this brochure.

Process Overview

  • Quote or make booking
  • Bookings will be checked by Kiwi Travel NZ before requests are sent to the suppliers
  • Once booking is being processed it can no longer be changed online, however notes can be sent to advise alterations or additional requirements
  • View the status of your booking online, print quotes/status reports/ invoices and itineraries
  • Any required changes due to availability can be viewed online
  • Once your booking is confirmed we will take a deposit (and contact you in regards to making full payment). A confirmation invoice will be emailed to the specified address
  • Please note fees do apply on Credit Card Payments (3% surcharge VISA and MasterCard)
  • When paid in full, documentation will be emailed to the specified addres

  • Confirmation Invoice Notes
  • Payment of this invoice confirms your agreement that all details listed including spelling of clients' names, dates and locations are correct. A minimum fee of NZ$35 will be charged if new documents are required due to details not being correct.

BOOKING CONDITIONS

Deposit:           
A deposit of NZ$110 per person is required upon confirmation to secure this reservation. KiwiTravel NZ reserves the right to cancel the booking if the deposit is not received. Some motor vehicles/tours/luxury accommodations have their own deposit regulations and we will contact you if any additional payment is required at this stage.

Full Payment:   
Is due 35 days prior to departure date or immediately if within that period, with the exception of all Guided Walks and some motor vehicles/tours/luxury, which must be paid 60 days prior to departure.

Late Bookings: 
Bookings made within 35 days of the intended travel departure date are to be paid in full immediately upon confirmation. Your specified credit/debit card will be used for the deposit and we will contact you for the remaining balance on your booking. Please note we may need payment authorisation before your travel arrangements can be finalised, due to strict cancellation policies of individual suppliers.

NB: This fee will automatically apply once documents are issued.  Please note that amendments made within 35 days of departure may be considered cancellations and supplier fees will be charged.

Cancellations:    
Cancellation fees up to 100% can be applied from the time of booking. Kiwi Travel NZ's cancellation policy is clearly stated witin this website and deposits will be requested to cover these charges.

CANCELLATION CONDITIONS:

  • 25 days or more prior to departure: NZ$110 per person plus and Airline or Ground operator charges
  • 11 to 24 Days: $220 per person plus any Airline or Ground operator charges
  • 10 Days or less: 100% of Holiday cost.

Refunds:           
These are processed on 20th of the month following the confirmation of refund being authorised.

Ski Product:
All ski products are non-refundable. Ski conditions are an act of nature and totally beyond our control. Kiwi Travel NZ urges clients to check weather conditions before departing on any ski or snow dependant holiday as conditions can change at very short notice. Kiwi Travel NZ takes no responsibility for late starts or early finishes to the ski season.
